Taking part in Pinkathon 2013, I admit was only to meet Milind Soman, having admired him right since my college days.. It helped that my colleague from Blue Dart, Sharmila was already working with him..
Strangely post the run, having experienced the euphoric atmosphere, I could not just leave it all, at MMRDA grounds & wait till the next edition..
Encouraged by Sharmila, I slowly joined in the monthly training runs..
Never knew, this is where I would find ‘myself’ ..
Heard an apt quote – ‘The things u r passionate about are not random, they r ur calling’
Having overcome facial paralysis at the age of 30, I knew 1) anything can happen to anyone 2) you cannot just sit back & mope – ‘why me’ 3) recovery is thanks to tonnes of positivity (given to me by my, then 4 year old daughter who kept telling me that she wants to see me smile from both the sides) ofcourse partnered by the right treatment..
This experience guided me in giving strength to my mother in law who fought breast cancer & recovered..
Armed with this positive experience , Pinkathon came into my life.. It is not just for someone looking to run..
Its a family which makes you believe that whatever challenges you encounter along the way, just dont stop believing in yourself’..
And here I am.. Pinkathon Ambassador in 2014 & at the expense of boasting a bit – ‘Star of SBI Pinkathon – 2014′.. Can life get any better?
