15th September, 2013 has been a day to remember for residents of New Delhi when the Talkatora Stadium was filled with enthusiasm. Milind Soman, known super model, fitness enthusiast and founder of Pinkathon initiated the warm up along with Zumba instructors on the stage for the participants and enthusiasts across the venue. Style & sophistication blended in perfectly with strength and stamina. There was joyful laughter amidst the music which was beautifully caught in the many professional cameras.
With most participants in white T Shirts which read ‘I Am A Pink Sister’ and the rest sporting a red T Shirt reading ‘All In For Pinkathon’, their sporty spirits had been boosted.
Gul Panag and the organizers flagged off the event. Milind Soman led the 10 K run. Women of all ages and even cancer survivors ran for the cause. The route was flooded with participants en route India Gate. After crossing the Rashtrapati Bhawan the runners turned back to reach Talkatora stadium. A 70-year old woman got the prize for being the oldest runner, depicting that age is just a number. A 5- year old boy was called on the stage and rewarded for encouraging his mom. He made a poster for his mom which said, “RUN MOM RUN”.
Gul Panag mentioned aptly that running is like brushing your teeth, it should be done daily. And why not, when it has so many health benefits? They say that running releases endorphin, which makes you happy. So here is a KUDOS to all the happy faces
